Our staff members are trained above and beyond the state required licensing guidelines. We believe in order to care for the elderly, one must be first provided with proper training and education. We interview and hire only the potential staff members that prove to have a desire to be with and enjoy working with our older population. Our staff members all read, write and speak English. We also have Spanish speaking staff. We have “awake” staff at night. Currently, for pets, we have Miss Audrey’s two Yorkie dogs “Harley” and “Jake” that reside inside with our ladies. Outside we have Miss Ruby’s three California Desert Tortoises and two box turtles.
Julie Parrish is co-administrator with her husband Billy. Julie is a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Julie enjoys creating curriculum and training her employees. Julie interviews each staff member with the main goal of that individual being able to provide quality care and thoroughly enjoy working with the elderly. She gives her best to her staff and receives it back ten-fold from the staff.
Each staff member must have the following:
Criminal Records Fingerprint Clearance
CPR/First Aid Training
Direct Patient Care 10 hours
Resident’s Rights 2 hours
Dementia Training 8 hours
Sundowner’s Training 2 hours
End of Life/Hospice Care Training 8 hours
Medication PRN and Narcotics Administration/Training 8 hours
Emergency/Disaster Preparedness 6 hours
Pressure Ulcers, Skin Care, Ostomy Care 4 hours
Hand Washing, Bloodborne Pathogens, Standard Precautions 2 hours
Staff members are only allowed to work a maximum of 8 hours per day and a maximum or 40 hours per week. In this manner, we prevent burn-out and staff members falling asleep on the job, or having them frequently calling in sick. Our grave shift / night shift staff are “awake” and do not sleep.
Letters of Recommendation are available upon request.
