Pets are a very large part of some of our lives and it is extremely difficult to separate someone from their beloved pet. We encourage residents who have pets to either move in with their pets or we encourage pet visits with their families.
Family participation is so important to our elderly residents and we always want to recognize this. Therefore, we will always encourage grandchildren, great-grand children and friends of the family to visit often. We do not maintain strict visitation guidelines or policies for visitation. The more visits and family communication our residents have is helping us to provide a more home-like and healthy environment for our residents.
Special musical or artistic talents are often shared within our families and we invite families that have these gifts to join in with us on typical days as well as special celebration days and share their talents with us.
Holidays and Special Celebrations are always important factors in all of our lives. We want to encourage all of our families to participate in the planning and celebrations of everything that we do for the ladies in our home. Our most celebrated holidays are Easter, Mother’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We usually have a grand family gathering with a pot-luck and loads of fun. We love holidays and birthdays!
Outings with families are a special time for our residents. We encourage our families to take their loved ones out as much as the resident is able. We assist by making sure they are dressed appropriately, hair styled, and ready when the family arrives.
